Fleetwood Windows & Doors Featured Sackley Chase Sensation at Modernism Week
Precision-Crafted Window and Door Systems Contribute to Landmark Home’s Revival
CORONA, CA, October 9, 2025 – Fleetwood Windows and Doors, the premier manufacturer of luxury aluminum windows and doors, returns to Palm Springs, CA for Modernism Week – October 2025. The company’s products will be featured in the celebrated Sackley Chase Sensation, a Brutalist-inspired landmark home open to visitors October 16-19, 2025. The fall event offers a unique opportunity to explore the desert’s architectural treasures in a focused, small-scale setting.
Originally designed in 1976 by renowned Palm Springs architect Stan Sackley and decorated by legendary interior designer Steve Chase, the Sackley Chase Sensation is a quintessential example of late midcentury modern design’s collision with brutalism. Recently reimagined by Roger Stoker and Michael Ostrow of Grace Home Furnishings, the home balances preservation with modern performance thanks in part to Fleetwood’s windows and doors, which seamlessly merge timeless minimalism with cutting-edge functionality.
“The goal wasn’t to create a new look,” said Stoker. “The goal was to keep the architecture, but with double-pane glass that’s energy efficient and modern. Fleetwood really understood what we were going after. These doors are just amazing—energy efficient, they glide easily, they lock easily. Fleetwood really knocked it out of the park.”
Fleetwood’s contributions to the renovation include the Series 3000 Sliding Doors, Series 3200 Hinged Doors, Series 350-T Windows, and Series 3800-T Fixed Window System. These systems preserve the home’s iconic sightlines while delivering the durability and energy efficiency required for today’s desert living.
“We went back and forth with the homeowners, always trying to preserve the roots of the house,” said Stephen Whitfield of Architectural Glazing, Inc., Fleetwood’s long-standing Palm Springs dealer and installer. “But we also had the freedom to make it even more spectacular. That’s where Fleetwood really shines.”
The Sackley Chase Sensation first debuted as a Featured Home during Modernism Week in February 2025, drawing thousands of design enthusiasts, architects, and preservationists. Its return in October gives attendees a second opportunity to experience the revitalized property firsthand.
“Fleetwood is honored to be part of this architectural legacy,” said Rebecca Cottrell, general manager of Fleetwood Windows and Doors. “The Sackley Chase Sensation demonstrates how our windows and doors support both preservation and innovation, allowing historic modernist homes to thrive for generations to come.”
